Poached Pears

¾ cup white grape juice
1/3 cup orange juice
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp ground cinnamon
6 large pears, peeled, halved and cored
Shredded orange peel

In a large skillet or wok, combine juices, sugar and cinnamon.  Cook and stir over medium-low heat until sugar dissolves.  Add pear halves. 

Cover and cook 8 to 10 minutes or until pears are barely tender.  Uncover and cook 20 minutes more until pears are translucent. 

Let cool slightly.  Serve with orange peel & ice cream – if desired.
