Jazz Dance Demo
Jazz Dance Demo
Watch this studio’s choreographer and dancers as they demo 2 jazz dances.

When a choreographer teaches a dance, it is always broken down into counts of eights.  He or she will demonstrate a combination of steps adding up to eight beats of the music and will keep adding on for the duration of the class.

In this video, the instructor is taking a combination from the performance and breaks it down.  She uses technical terms for each dance step and strings all the steps together for that count of eight.  After she has explained the combination, she has one of her dancers do the combination without stopping as it is performed on stage.

You can learn some of Katrina and Sloane’s combinations by checking out some of our dance lesson videos.  Here’s a combination from Lady Gaga’s Bad Romance song.
